cant you at least TRY to avoid cliche

In this our modern age, post Kubrick, post Tarrentino, mediums of art based purely on shock value or the expression or primitive emotion have lost a great deal of there impact.

I have read what many people have said in their reviews of this piece; most of you are way off.

1. This isnt that shocking or sick, those of you whom think so are fairly narrow minded and ignorant of the art community.
2. This really isnt that good.

Its time to go home people, your masterpiece is not here.

Now it may be unfair to compare you to David Firth, but fuck it i'm going to do it anyway. David firth makes some real cliché flash animations, dealing with contrived issues, extremes and stale characters. What makes David Firth a fucking god is his directing ability, the atmosphere he creates, his stunning depth and detail, his minimalism etc etc etc.

You’re obviously a fairly talented animator, but your flash is boring as fuck. The music detracted from your piece in ways i doubt you could have ever imagined, the 'graphic violence' was cheesy, and when you did manage to create something a little interesting (like the look of ecstasy on the face of you self mutilating girl) you turned on the bullshit with your little teddy bear sub plot.

The difference between you and say (David Firth) is that you pedal out neatly drawn/animated pieces, which have no substance. David Firth creates flash animations, which are all substance because from the background/voices/music/textures the entire piece is highly stylised, everything working in cohesion to achieve one complete vision.

Comparatively this isnt that bad, i'm going to vote 3. But this is nothing to get excited over.

HAHa

I actually liked this a lot. My only hope is that a) you endeavour to make a longer flash animation b) you use any encouragement you find here to make more detailed higher quality animation.

This was a minor delight, overall 7/10.

Hobbad responds:

Yes and Yes. (sorry, lots of posts to reply to, he he)

Working on a continuation to the series.

Could have been allright

Ok well lets get the first cat off the rack.

His name is ginger and he says:

"This flash animation is smooth, short and for the most part humorous. As you have no other submissions this flash animation should be a gateway piece to other better things."

And now our second cat, socks the kitten says:

"What disheartens me is that you have no concept of emo or the emo scene. I'm not going to rant on about this, but as far as i am concerned the only thing more annoying then tossers who listen to simple plan and wrongly associate themselves with the emo scene, are people who complain about the poseurs associating themselves wrongly etc etc etc".

To conclude, decent satire, but get your facts straight.

Hope to see more work from you in the future.

It was

Short but sweet.

PROXER responds:

yup

Nzxer Can i have your fucking babies?

Man i loved this, i totally fucking dig your work.

Firstly it was so short and sweet, it was like a beatles single. I was left wanting more, left hanging. So few animators have the balls (or vision) to create a piece this short.

Secondly i love the way you adapted music so perfectly, without the music ever being the focus of your piece. You must be one of the first flash animators i have seen in a while that understand the fine art of mixing separate elements and ultimately achieving there aim.

Breath of fresh air my friend, breath of fresh air.

Nzxer responds:

Amen brother. Amen!

A few lessons

1. Random violence occurring between anatomically incorrect characters is the most benign boring shit ever to grace newgrounds. Its been done, it may impress your friends who are ignorant to flash animations, but its been done. If you want to be taken seriously, move on.
2. Have a warning or advisor screen at the start of your animation makes you look like the biggest tosser ever.
3. Overall not bad for a first flash animation.

*the sound of a young man becoming bitter*

I think this is what happens when flash becomes a tool to stave off boredom, rather then a medium of expression or entertainment.

I realise this is your first flash animation, but just because you have picked up a little bit of animating ability (and i use the word lightly) doesnt mean you should upload the first half baked idea that comes to mind.

I mean come on? what was this? Music videos at least attempt to be an artistic representation of a song or try to sell you something.
This was just a visual aid, and a shit one at that.

Try harder.

Man no

Do you really think it was worth creating this at the end of the day?

In terms of creation, this truely was a still birth, judging by your introduction you have some talent, but shit like this undermines your true potential.

Ouch

This is the worst kind of flash animation, a medicore one. So unmemorable, so boring, so apathetic (via itself).

Watching this was like having my eyes fucked with knives.

Yes and yet, NoTh

This was good, and i do empathise with your intolerance of all this 'crew' rubbish we see.

But your flash just seemed a little half baked. Nice work overall.

Ghosty22 responds:

Yeah... I just kinda did it in one day...

My Pop culture sentiment spits in the face of modern youth.
