cant you at least TRY to avoid cliche
In this our modern age, post Kubrick, post Tarrentino, mediums of art based purely on shock value or the expression or primitive emotion have lost a great deal of there impact.
I have read what many people have said in their reviews of this piece; most of you are way off.
1. This isnt that shocking or sick, those of you whom think so are fairly narrow minded and ignorant of the art community.
2. This really isnt that good.
Its time to go home people, your masterpiece is not here.
Now it may be unfair to compare you to David Firth, but fuck it i'm going to do it anyway. David firth makes some real cliché flash animations, dealing with contrived issues, extremes and stale characters. What makes David Firth a fucking god is his directing ability, the atmosphere he creates, his stunning depth and detail, his minimalism etc etc etc.
You’re obviously a fairly talented animator, but your flash is boring as fuck. The music detracted from your piece in ways i doubt you could have ever imagined, the 'graphic violence' was cheesy, and when you did manage to create something a little interesting (like the look of ecstasy on the face of you self mutilating girl) you turned on the bullshit with your little teddy bear sub plot.
The difference between you and say (David Firth) is that you pedal out neatly drawn/animated pieces, which have no substance. David Firth creates flash animations, which are all substance because from the background/voices/music/textures the entire piece is highly stylised, everything working in cohesion to achieve one complete vision.
Comparatively this isnt that bad, i'm going to vote 3. But this is nothing to get excited over.
